Configuring "Quantity Percentage" for Pushing Stock Levels

Overview

As a way of offering additional overselling protection for products that could see a surge of sales in a very short period of time, Finale provides a configurable setting called "Quantity Percentage". This setting, which is configurable on both the integration level as well as the product level, will limit the stock quantities for the store based on the percentage entered.

This setting can help you avoid the need to temporarily disconnect these types of products from your stores during flash sales, campaigns, new product launches, etc.. In turn, this eliminates the risk of having to remember to reconnect the stores after the event is over.

How to Configure

At the global (integration) level:

Example Calculation

  • Remaining quantity = 250

  • Quantity percentage = 50%

  • Quantity pushed for store = 125

As sales are pulled into Finale and the remaining quantity is updated, this will also update the quantity pushed for store:

  • Remaining quantity = 80

  • Quantity percentage = 50%

  • Quantity pushed for store = 40

Other Details Regarding the Behavior of This Feature

  • The supported range for the "Quantity percentage" feature is 0 - 100. Values entered outside of this range will be removed or ignored

  • The "Quantity percentage" is applied only after adding the base quantity and any supplier quantities, per the integration task configuration

  • The "Minimum quantity" and "Maximum quantity" rules are applied to the calculated stock quantities after the "Quantity percentage" is applied. For example:

    • Minimum quantity

      • Remaining quantity = 6

      • Quantity percentage = 50%

      • Calculated stock quantity = 3

      • Minimum quantity = 4

      • Quantity pushed for store = 0

    • Maximum quantity

      • Remaining quantity = 250

      • Quantity percentage = 50%

      • Calculated stock quantity = 125

      • Maximum quantity = 100

      • Quantity pushed for store = 100

  • The calculated stock quantity will be rounded down to the nearest whole number when generating quantity pushed for store. For example:

    • Remaining quantity = 5

    • Quantity percentage = 50%

    • Calculated stock quantity = 2.5

    • Quantity pushed for store = 2
