Finale Knowledge Base

Shopify Sales Per Location Configuration

Finale Inventory can import Shopify orders into Finale based on the Shopify Location assigned to the order, instead of relying only on the order’s source (like web, draft, or POS).

This feature is especially helpful for Shopify sellers who manage stock across multiple locations. Orders can be imported and tied to the correct Finale location, ensuring your inventory is tracked more accurately across warehouses or stores. The process of setting a location from which inventory will be used for fulfillment is done through Finale sales order property "Origin".

Finale also support importing Shopify orders split into two or more Fulfillments. When Finale is configured to import Shopify split fulfillments, you can assign each fulfillment a distinct origin based on its Shopify location.

Setup

  • To enable this feature, you will need to configure settings in your “Pull Sales” task for Shopify.

  • These settings are located under the section “Shopify locations to Finale shipment and invoice options

  • Select the behavior under each location:

    • Update stock levels at specified sub-location

    • Update stock levels using barcode scanner to pack shipments

    • Do not update stock levels

    • Do not import orders

Remember to set an origin for your orders if opting to import orders!

FAQ

  • Will this change my current settings?

    • No, your Shopify integration will retain its original configuration and this will have no impact on your existing setup. You will need to explicitly select settings for your Shopify locations in the Finale Pull Sales task in order to use this feature.

  • I do not see my locations in the settings.

    • You may need to re-authenticate your Shopify integration if you do not see your locations present in the pull sales settings.

  • What if I have settings for both sources and locations?

    • The settings for sources will take priority, unless set to use “Default for location”

In this example,

Orders with source “Web” will decrement stock at sublocation A1

Orders with source “Draft”, will decrement stock at sublocation A2

  • My settings look a little different. What changed?

    • You may have noticed your source names look a little different. We have removed the location name from the source, since they are now split into two separate sections.

  • What happens when an order has multiple fulfillments?

    • You have the option to configure the Shopify Integration pull sales task to either create fulfillment orders when orders are split into fulfillments in Shopify, or conflate the entire order into the first fulfillment order's location as the location in Finale.
