How do I create or edit list screen custom views?

Finale has the ability to save multiple custom views to quickly cycle between useful views on various list screens. This article will walk you through how to create and edit a custom views.



Custom Views are available to all users, and any changes made to a template view will affect all users on the account, however, the user permission "Update Custom Views" is required for any user to make changes to a custom view.


In this example we will be using the Stock view to demonstrate screen presets.

  1. Use this drop down arrow to display the list of custom views, select a view, and to make any changes to new or existing views.

  2. Use this to create a new view. The new view will automatically be created using whatever filters and columns are already being displayed. If no changes were made, it will be a copy of the standard default stock view.

  3. Use this to initialize the edit column mode

  4. Use this to save all filters to the view. This includes searches, locations, category, and any other "more filter" values.

  5. To rename the view, or delete it, use the 3 dots next to the view to bring up the sub-menu and choose the desired function. WARNING: Deleting a view will delete the view for all users on the account.


Editing Columns in Your Custom View

  1. Initialize the edit column mode as detailed above.

  2. Select the divider from the right side of the column to adjust the size. Moving the cursor to the right to grow or moving left to shrink the column.

  3. Click and hold a column header and drag it across the divider of another column to rearrange the ordering of columns.

  4. You may further edit the columns by selecting the cogwheel on top of the column.mceclip3.png

  5. Once you have added an empty column you may change the contents of the column via the “Column” drop-down.

  6. You may name the column in the “Label” field to further customize the column.

  7. Selecting “Expand to fill remaining space” will have the column increase in width to fill any space left over giving priority to other fields based on their starting width.

  8. Removing a column will discard the field from the table until it is added again.

  9. Lastly, adding a column will automatically open the edit menu for that newly added list, allowing you to customize that new column with all of the above edit options.
