How do I Configure Finale to Push Lead Time (Fulfillment Latency) for Amazon® Listings?

In addition to updated stock quantities, Finale can now also update production time (fulfillment latency) for Amazon listings.

Fulfillment latency is an Amazon setting to mark an item as requiring additional lead time to ship. The default value on Amazon is one to two business days, and if you do not need to change the fulfillment latency for Amazon, there are no additional steps required.

If your merchant-fulfilled Amazon listings require custom fulfillment latency settings (e.g. you sell customized products), you can configure these settings in Finale.

amazon_production_time

If it is set on a specific product, it will be updated with the regular inventory update feed. For example, when set to five days, it will appear on Amazon with a message like: "Processing takes an additional 4 to 5 days for orders from this seller."

It can accept any integer value equal to or between 0 and 30. The next time an Amazon inventory update is sent, the value will be updated automatically since it gets included in the inventory feed.

Steps

To set this up:

Step 1

For the products that have a custom lead time, please update the product "std leadtime field" attribute directly from the Product Details page or via a bulk import.

If their lead time value is outside of the range of Amazon's allowed lead times (0-30), it will send the closest value within their range. Please note that if your account does not allow for specific lead times then it will default to the closest value within the range. If your account doesn't allow for a value of zero it will default to one.

Step 2

Enable the capability by turning on the setting from the Amazon connection page. The setting is turned off by default.

When enabling this feature, leave the Std lead days field empty on products that you do not want to send any value to Amazon. This will allow you to send lead times for some products and none for others.

Additional Steps - ADVANCED Setting up Fulfilment Latency To Include Supplier Lead Times

Finale also has the capability to change the fulfillment latency to use the supplier lead time if you run out of stock on a specific product and need to create a purchase order from a supplier.

To set this capability up, there are a couple of additional steps required in addition to step #1 and step #2.

Step 3

You must leverage the supplier purchase fields of the products and populate the Supplier 1, Supplier 1 Qty, Supplier Qty.
If you have additional suppliers, Finale will use supplier 1 lead time until there is no stock, then push supplier 2 lead times, and so forth.

Step 4

Within the Pull sales to Finale settings for the ShipStation connection, select Prioritized Supplie" for the Include Supplier setting.

Step 5

Add the following report to understand what lead time Finale is pushing to Amazon for each product.

Examples Calculation

When the prioritized supplier setting is set, Finale will update the stock qty to the marketplace with the following prioritization.

Example Base Calculations

1) If there is Remaining stock in your warehouse, Finale will push stock qty and product lead time from the warehouse to the marketplace

2) If the Remaining stock in your warehouse = 0, Finale will push stock qty from the Supplier 1 qty Available field and Supplier 1 lead days" field to Amazon.

Using the table above, as an illustration, Finale will push a stock qty of four and lead time of two days from "ABC T-shirts".

3) If the Remaining stock in your warehouse = 0 and Supplier 1 qty Available=0, Finale will push stock qty from the Supplier 2 qty Available and Supplier 2 lead days: field to Amazon.

Using the table above, as an illustration, Finale will push a stock qty of and lead time of four days from EgoSys.

Example Kit Calculations

If the product is a kit, Finale will push the qty based on the component quantities and the longest lead time (if applicable).

For example, the finished product is a shampoo / conditioner bundle. The kits are composed of one of each product.

If there are seven shampoo bottles in the warehouse, and zero conditioner bottles in the warehouse and supplier one has four conditioner units with a five-day lead time then Finale will push four kits with a five-day lead time to Amazon.

1) Shampoo bottle in stock, but conditioner out of stock:

If there are seven shampoo bottles in the warehouse and 0 conditioner bottles in the warehouse and supplier one has four conditioner units with a five-day lead time, then Finale will push four kits with a five-day lead time to Amazon

2) Neither Shampoo nor Conditioner are in your warehouse:

If supplier one has seven units of shampoo with a five-day lead time, and supplier one has two units with a three-day lead time then Finale will push two kits with a five-day lead time to Amazon.

3) Neither Shampoo nor Conditioner are in your warehouse and Shampoo is not available from Supplier one.

If supplier one has seven units of shampoo with a five-day lead time, and supplier two has two units of conditioner with a three-day lead time then Finale will push two kits with a five-day lead time to Amazon.

Summary of Amazon Fulfillment Latency Calculation Scenarios

Please see table below highlighting the various scenarios for the Amazon fulfillment latency calculation.

If the lead time for a product being pushed to Amazon is infinite, the quantity for that product is non-zero, and the integration is configured to push lead days, the product will not push. This is due to the lead days being indeterminate/undefined, which would overwrite the existing value for the lead days on Amazon back to default (one to two days) This can happen if an enabled option either does not have sufficient quantity (supplier) or the lead time for that enabled option is empty.

If You Are Not Pushing Lead Times but Have Different Lead Times.

If you're listing to Amazon using different lead times, but have Finale configured not to push lead times, then the integration will automatically set all of your listings to your Amazon default lead time setting (overwriting any exceptions you've set manually).

If you have different lead times on Amazon, you must have Finale pushing the lead time as well.
