Troubleshooting the 401 Sync Error on the Mobile Barcode Scanner App

Understanding the 401 Network Error

If you are attempting to sync the scanner and receiving a 401 Network Error, it means that the scanner has lost connectivity.


Troubleshooting Steps

  1. From the main menu on the scanner, tap More until you see option 16. Test WiFi.

  2. Run the WiFi test. The scanner app will confirm whether your network connection is established.




If Connection Is Established

If your network connection is established and you still receive a 401 Error:

  • Quit the scanner app and reopen it.

  • You will be prompted to confirm your login.

  • Select No and re-enter your credentials.

  • Attempt to sync the scanner again.

If this issue continues and you cannot successfully sync the scanner, please reach out to service@finaleinventory.com for further assistance.


Note

Don’t worry if you lose connection temporarily — losing network does not mean you’ve lost your work on the scanner. Once the connection is restored, you can sync, and the scanner will upload all transactions automatically. There’s no need to redo picking or packing unless specifically indicated by an error message.
