The Finale Inventory Barcode Scanning Application Is Hardware Agnostic
We don't need you to use any specific make, model, or brand, nor do you have to purchase your hardware from our preferred vendors. As long as your hardware meets the minimum operating system and hardware specifications you should be able to use it with our application.
We do have preferred hardware vendors for you to choose from if you wish. They stand behind and service the products that they sell, provide outstanding customer support, and pre-configure and install our software so they are ready-to-go out of the box.
Note: We do not officially recommend any Android cellphones or tablet devices.
While you can use phones and tablets at your own discretion, keep in mind that they only have a built-in camera for capturing a barcode. This tends to be very slow, clunky, and frustrating.
You can improve their performance and acceptability by using a Bluetooth linked/paired barcode scanner in tandem.

Requirements and Notes
In order to use our mobile barcode application the Finale Inventory WMS Module is a required add-on to your subscription plans. We do not provide hardware.
Our Mobile scanning application will not run on any iOS device, but you may use the mobile scanning application on an Android OS-based device, and it will communicate directly to your Finale Inventory cloud application via WiFi and is compatible with Mac or Windows PCs.
The Mobile Scanning application is independent of the computer and operating system and web browser you are using.

Legacy Windows Mobile Devices
* We have supported Windows Mobile OS-based scanners in the past. We are phasing out support for these devices, called LEGACY scanners. Microsoft has ended all support for Windows Mobile OS and the Windows Mobile Device Center software. If you use WiFi to sync, you do not need a Windows PC or browser.
