When to Use a Transfer

Use the transfer function when you need to:

  • Move items between shelves, bins, or bays in the same warehouse.

  • Consolidate stock from one area into another.

  • Reorganize inventory for packing, picking, or replenishment.

Example Scenario

In this example:

  • Product: Apple Pie (PID)

  • Current stock: 3 units in sublocation M3

  • Goal: Transfer all 3 units from M3 ? M1

Starting the Transfer on the Scanner

  1. From the scanner Home screen, select Transfer.

  2. The scanner will prompt you to:

    • Scan the “From” sublocation (e.g., M3).

    • Scan the “To” sublocation (e.g., M1).

Scanning Items to Transfer

  1. Once locations are set, scan the product barcode for each item to move.

    • Example: Scan the Apple Pie barcode.

  2. Each scan transfers 1 unit from the source to the destination.

  3. Repeat until you’ve transferred the desired quantity.

    • Example: Scan 3 times to transfer all 3 units.

  4. The scanner displays confirmation at the bottom (e.g., “Last 1 of Apple Pie).

Reviewing Transfers

  • Tap Menu ? Review to see a summary of transferred items.

  • Example: “Transferred 3 Apple Pies from M3 to M1.”

Completing the Transfer

  1. Exit back to the Main Menu when finished.

  2. On your next Sync, the transfer will upload to the Finale cloud.

  3. The stock screen in Finale will reflect the new quantities at each location.

Tips

  • If you need to transfer only part of the stock, scan only the number of items required.

  • Always scan location barcodes rather than selecting manually—this reduces errors.

  • Use printed sublocation labels (from Reports ? Labels) to speed up scanning.
