Rate shopping configuration determines which carrier accounts and carrier services Finale evaluates when you compare rates. Before configuring it, review FIN-N-1464. That article explains how to retrieve and compare rates in Finale.
This article explains how to choose the carrier accounts and carrier services included in those comparisons.
Rate Shopping Is Configured in ShipRush
Finale uses Descartes ShipRush, a Descartes sister company, as its connection to shipping carriers. Before you configure rate shopping for Finale, connect ShipRush to Finale by following FIN-N-780.
Each carrier account configured in ShipRush includes settings for rate shopping. Use these settings to decide which carrier accounts and services Finale evaluates when you select Browse rates.
Configure Rate Shopping in ShipRush
Sign in to your ShipRush account.
Select Settings in the left navigation of the ShipRush user interface.
Open the Rate Shopping subsection for a carrier account.
Each carrier account has its own Rate Shopping settings, where you control whether the account and its services are included in rate shopping.
Include a Carrier Account
Decide whether you want each carrier account to appear in the rate shopping interface. Enable rate shopping for an account to include its eligible services when Finale retrieves available rates during rate shopping.
When rate shopping is not enabled for an account, you can still retrieve a rate by selecting a specific carrier service for that account. Finale does not evaluate that account when it compares rates in the Rate Shopping window.
Include Carrier Services
When an account is enabled for rate shopping, choose the services included in rate evaluation. Clear services that do not apply to your shipping needs to reduce the options shown in Finale.
For example, a retailer that never ships envelopes can clear envelope services. A retailer that does not use Priority Mail can clear those services.
